Chen Kaiyun, also known as Gambit, is a well-known figure in Hong Kong and has had a long relationship with entrepreneur Lau Luen-hung. Her parents divorced early; her elder sister Chen Shiyun and younger sister Chen Nu-yun joined Chinese Estates Holdings, respectively serving as General Manager of Guangsheng Hang and in the Sales and Marketing Department.

Chen Kaiyun initially broke into the field by interviewing wealthy businessman Lau Luen-hung, then moved to work at a company under his control, first as an assistant manager at Guangsheng Hall and later promoted to Lau Luen-hung’s personal assistant.

According to public reports, after their relationship developed, her standard of living rose markedly: she is often accompanied by a driver, lives in a hilltop mansion, carries an Hermès handbag, and has bodyguards with her when entering and exiting.

When Gambit’s other partner Lu Lijun issued a statement after Gambit’s daughter was born, Lau Luen-hung publicly said he would not forgive Lu Lijun.

Births and family events: In early 2008, media reports indicated Chen Kaiyun was pregnant, with the attending physician Liu Guolin. On October 23 of the same year, Gambit gave birth to a daughter at Mingde Hospital by natural delivery, weighing over 8 pounds; mother and daughter were safe, and Lau Luen-hung and his mother, Mrs. Lau, visited the hospital. The daughter born in 2008 is listed on the birth certificate with father Lau Luen-hung and mother Chen Kaiyun; the daughter’s name is Liu Xiuhua. Lau Luen-hung’s elder daughter with his ex-wife Bao Yongqin is Liu Xiurong, and Lu Lijun’s daughter is Liu Xiuying.

On December 16, 2012, Gambit was again admitted to hospital and delivered a son by cesarean section, weighing 8 pounds, born at Mingde Hospital by the same method; reports indicated the child’s looks resembled his father Lau Luen-hung.

There were reports that Lau Luen-hung planned to give Gambit a hilltop mansion worth 300 million yuan as a reward for bearing a child. In October 2024, Gambit participated in the lineup for the 2024 Vogue Fashion Power Summit, which was officially announced.
