Introduction
Princess Nanping, whose birth and death years are unknown, lived approximately between the 14th century and 1412. She was the fourth daughter of the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang. Her father was Crown Prince Yiwen Zhu Biao, and her mother's identity remains unclear. In 1392, her father Zhu Biao passed away. In 1399, her brother Zhu Yunwen ascended the throne as emperor. Records regarding Princess Nanping's formal titles, marriage, and other matters have not been documented. Her fourth uncle, Zhu Di, overthrew Zhu Yunwen during the JingNan campaigns and ascended the throne in 1402 as Emperor Chengzong of Ming, with the era name Yongle. In the tenth year of Yongle (1412), Princess Nanping passed away. Emperor Chengzong posthumously granted her the title of Princess Nanping.
