Jin Yuzhang

Jin Yuzhang (Chinese: 金毓嶂), born on May 3, 1942, in Beijing, is a Chinese civil servant and politician. He is a member of the Aisin-Gioro family, the imperial clan of the Qing dynasty, and holds the position of head of the House of Aisin-Gioro. He is also regarded as the heir apparent to the former throne of the Qing monarchy.

Jin's birth name was Aisin-Gioro Yuzhang. His father was Jin Youzhi, a Manchu nobleman, and his paternal uncle was Puyi, the last Emperor of China. Puyi, also known as the Xuantong Emperor, was the final monarch of the Qing dynasty and later became the emperor of Manchukuo, a Japanese puppet state established in northeastern China.

Jin received his education at the China University of Geosciences. Following his graduation, he began his career working at the Qinghai Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources from 1968 until 1985. Afterwards, he returned to Beijing and worked at the Chongwen district's Bureau of Environmental Protection.

Throughout his career, Jin has not been a member of the Chinese Communist Party. Nonetheless, he has participated in various political assemblies as a non-partisan representative. In 1999, he was elected to the Beijing People's Political Consultative Conference. He retired from his role as vice-director of the Chongwen district government in Beijing in 2008.

In his personal life, Jin married Liu Yumin, an ethnic Han Chinese woman, in 1974. The couple has one daughter, Jin Xin, born in 1976. Jin Xin holds a degree in computer science from university, is a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in the Dongcheng District of Beijing, and is also recognized as a painter.

In December 2022, Jin was awarded the Jinghua Concentric Award as a member of the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Jin's patrilineal descent traces back to the imperial family of the Qing dynasty, maintaining his status as the head of the House of Aisin-Gioro and the heir to the historical monarchy of China.
