Abigail Baxter (1634β1692) was the mother of Joseph Adams Jr., who lived from 1654 to 1737. Her grandson, John Adams Sr., was a British colonial farmer and minister, and the father of John Adams, the second President of the United States, who served from 1797 to 1801. John Quincy Adams, the sixth President of the United States, served from 1825 to 1829, was the son of John Adams.
