Introduction
Princess Jiangdu, a princess of the Ming Dynasty, was the eldest daughter of Emperor Ming Yingzong Zhu Zhao. Her mother's identity is unknown. In the 27th year of the Hongwu reign (1394), she married Geng Xuan, the son of Marquis Changxing Geng Bingwen. Geng Xuan served as a Deputy Military Commander. At the time of her marriage, she was titled Princess Jiangdu. In the first year of the Jianwen era (1399), she was elevated to princess, and Geng Xuan was appointed as her escort. Her husband, Geng Bingwen, participated in the campaign against Prince Zhu Di of Yan, and Geng Xuan once suggested an direct attack on Beiping. Geng Bingwen was later dismissed from his position, and Geng Xuan withdrew from public life. In the early years of Yongle, Geng Xuan fell ill and did not leave her house; she was later implicated and executed. As a result, Princess Jiangdu was demoted to Princess of Jiangdu, and she eventually died due to worries and sadness.
