Introduction
Henry Pelham, who died in 1721, was the son of Lady Lucy Sydney. His grandfather, Thomas Pelham, 1st Baron Pelham, was an English politician and held the title of Baron. Thomas Pelham-Holles, 1st Duke of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, was the son of Thomas Pelham, 1st Baron Pelham, and served as Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1693 to 1768. Lady Lucy Sydney, born in 1630, was the mother of Henry Pelham and the grandmother of Thomas Pelham-Holles.
