Katherine Helm is an American portraitist and the daughter of Emilie Todd Helm, who was the daughter of Robert Smith Todd. Robert Smith Todd was an American lawyer, businessman, and politician born in 1791 and died in 1849. Emilie Todd Helm is the half-sister of Mary Todd Lincoln, who was the First Lady of the United States from 1861 to 1865, and Mary Todd Lincoln was the wife of Abraham Lincoln, the U.S. president from 1861 to 1865.
