Lady Harriot Elizabeth Grimston, who died in 1888, was the daughter of James Grimston, the 2nd Earl of Verulam, and Charlotte Jenkinson. Her grandfather was Charles Jenkinson, the 1st Earl of Liverpool, a British politician, and her great-grandfather was James Jenkinson, the 2nd Earl of Liverpool, who also served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1812 to 1827.
