Introduction
In 1931, he joined the Soviet Red Army. In 1949, he served as a counselor at the Chinese Embassy in the Soviet Union. In 1950, he was appointed as the Chinese Consul General in Chita. He was awarded the rank of Major General in 1955. In August 1961, he was promoted to Brigadier General. In 1956, he married Zhang Mei, the former wife of Lin Biao, and considered Lin Biao's daughter, Lin Xiaolin, as his own.
