Sela

Sela was born on April 18, 2013, at Hong Kong Adventist Hospital. She was delivered by Caesarean section, weighed about 7.4 pounds, and both mother and daughter were healthy. Sela’s father is actor Luó Jiāliáng (罗嘉良), who was 50 years old at the time. This was his first time becoming a father again after 14 years since his eldest son was born in 1999.

Sela’s mother is Sū Yán (苏岩). At the time of her birth, Luó said their daughter had a “very elfin” character, with large, open eyes, and a resemblance to her mother, Sū Yán. Sela’s English name “Cela” was chosen by her mother; the character “岩” (yán, meaning “rock”) appears in Sū Yán’s name, and “Cela” is said to mean “rock” in Latin, symbolizing resilience. As of 2017, Sela’s Chinese name had not been made public.

In July 2013, Luó Jiāliáng and Sū Yán held a 100-day banquet for Sela in Beijing. At the celebration the couple lovingly held their daughter as she appeared in a white princess dress, looking well-behaved and adorable. Sū Yán became moved to tears during the event and shared her love for her daughter on social media, emphasizing that allowing the child to grow naturally is most important. Friends, including Wang Xueqi, were invited to the celebration to join in wishing Sela well.

To date, other detailed personal information about Sela has not been disclosed publicly, and in particular her Chinese name remains unrevealed.
