Introduction

Zhalafungga (Manchu: ᠵᠠᠯᠠᡶ᠋ᡠᠩᡤᠠ, Muren Chinese transcription: jalafungga; born in the 19th century, died in 1898), a member of the Sakda clan, birth name Ruilin, courtesy name Heting, Imperial Cordon Attaché during the Qing Dynasty. His father, Xilabu, held the rank of Vice-Duyutun.

He initially served as a guard in the Emperor’s inner court. During the Xianfeng era, he was engaged to the eighth daughter of the Daoguang Emperor, Shouxixi, a Shushen princess, and was granted the name Zhalafungga. In the second year of the Tongzhi reign (1863), he officially married the princess. In the fifth year of Tongzhi (1866), the princess passed away. In the twelfth year of Tongzhi (1873), in the first month, he was appointed Deputy Duyutun of the Han army and promoted to Guard Commander. In November of the 14th year of Guangxu (1888), he was promoted to Duyutun and in charge of the Shiji camp affairs. In the first month of the 15th year of Guangxu (1890), he was granted a court horse; in October, he was granted a purple harness. In the first month of the 20th year of Guangxu (1894), he was granted the Gurlen (Imperial) courtesy title of attaché. He died in May of the 24th year of Guangxu (1898).
