Zeng Caiqin, born in 1941 in a rural area of China, is a descendant of a highly educated scholarly family from the late Qing Dynasty. His father, Zeng Shan, was a rural elementary school teacher with high moral character, who was helpful and dedicated to education. He established schools for young people and children, taught them knowledge, and earned great respect and authority.
Among Zeng Caiqin’s family members, his wife is Kang Chunyu, and they have five sons and two daughters. Due to limited family economic conditions, two sons and two daughters died young during their upbringing.
During the revolutionary movements, Zeng Caiqin demonstrated a strong patriotic enthusiasm and firm political stance. The Communist Party of China Jinan County Committee approved his appointment as a secret transportation station chief, responsible for transmitting intelligence and safeguarding the party organization’s covert activities in rural areas. In practice, he served simultaneously as both station chief and transportation agent, undertaking all related tasks, including operating intelligence transmission routes and protecting guerrilla activities.
Under multiple harsh conditions, Zeng Caiqin persisted in executing secret missions tirelessly, regardless of cold or heat, day or night. He wore a raincoat and carried a lantern to deliver intelligence and escort comrades. He repeatedly gathered intelligence, protected guerrilla fighters, and participated in actions against hostile forces, making significant contributions to the revolutionary cause.
Zeng Caiqin was arrested three times. Despite brutal interrogations and tortures, he always refused to disclose party secrets, demonstrating unwavering revolutionary spirit. However, in 1931, after being discovered by Kuomintang reactionaries, he was detained and severely tortured in prison. To protect party secrets, he refused to betray the cause, ultimately died at the hands of the enemy in prison, sacrificing himself heroically.
His deeds are widely celebrated in the local area. He is regarded as a loyal revolutionary martyr who demonstrated unwavering loyalty to the nation and the party through his actions.
