Jiang Cilang

Jiang Wen, born in 1957 in Tangshan, Hebei, is a renowned Chinese film actor and director. He was admitted to the Central Academy of Drama's Acting Department in 1980 and graduated from the same institution in 1984. That year, he joined the China Youth Art Theatre, beginning his stage career with performances in productions such as "Family Matters" and "Caucasian Chalk Circle." In 1996, Jiang Wen transferred to the Institute of Drama Studies at the Central Academy of Drama to focus on theatrical research.

In the film industry, Jiang Wen established his standing through several notable works. His leading roles in "Red Sorghum" and "Furong Town" are considered significant milestones in his acting career. Jiang Wen's mother is Zhou Yun, born in 1978 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang. She also graduated from the Central Academy of Drama's Acting Department. Known for her natural acting style, she initially appeared in advertisements alongside Tony Leung and later performed in various film and television works. Her notable works include the films "Hero of the Earth" and "The Barber," as well as TV dramas such as "Walking Through Happiness," "My Brothers and Sisters," and "Falling in Love with a Single Eyelid Boy."

On July 18, 2025, the film "You Can! You Will!" starring Jiang Wen was released in China. In this film, he served as the lead actor and director, with co-stars including Ma Li and Ge You. This latest work reflects his ongoing active involvement in film creation within his artistic career.
