Joseph Appleton

Joseph Appleton, born in 1751 and deceased on July 25, 1795, was the son of Isaac Appleton and the father of Francis Appleton. Isaac Appleton was born on May 30, 1704, and died on December 18, 1794. Francis Appleton, born in 1733 and died in 1816, was the son of Isaac Appleton and the father of Jesse Appleton. Jesse Appleton, born in 1772 and died in 1819, was the father of Jane Pierce. Jane Pierce served as the First Lady of the United States during the presidency of Franklin Pierce from 1853 to 1857 and was the wife of Franklin Pierce, who served as the President of the United States from 1853 to 1857. Jesse Appleton was also the second president of Bowdoin College.
